Creek Hockey Participates in 4th of July Parade

The BHS Varsity Hockey team once again celebrated the 4th of July with a Beavercreek hockey-themed float in the annual city parade. We can’t think of a better way to celebrate our nation’s freedom then spending it with the community that supports us!  Seniors Kevin Bovair and Joey Duford, sophomore Tanner King, and freshman Ben Duford passed out candy and foam pucks to the delight of the crowd. Seven Future Beavers braved the heat with big smile to join our players in representing the varsity team and wave our flags!  This years’ float put the team’s tradition on wheels–the Victory Bell rang to the cheers of fans and our mascot Marley hung off of the back.  Next time we see the Victory Bell and Marley, our boys will be taking to the ice for a game–can’t wait!

Creek Hockey Participates in Owen’s Place Fundraiser

Beavercreek Varsity Hockey participated in the first annual Owen’s Place Family Fun Day, which was hosted by Beavercreek City Schools, on Sunday May 6th at Rotary Park.  The purpose of this community event was to raise money for a handicapped accessible playground to Rotary Park.  Creek Hockey moved Dry Creek from the high school to Rotary and taught the kids how to shoot a hockey puck using our shooting mats and hockey biscuits.  The players also handed out Creek Hockey posters, pucks, and even cotton candy!  The boys did a great job interacting with the kids, giving them hockey shooting pointers, and making sure that everyone had a great time.  Who knows, perhaps a future Creek Hockey player got his start because of this!
