Creek Falls To Elder 6-1

Beavercreek battled the Elder Panthers Sunday afternoon on Faculty Appreciation Day at the Kettering Rec Center.  The Beavers had their hands full with the Panthers, who were undefeated in SWOHSHL play, but were determined to put their best skates forward for their teachers.  Creek matched the intensity of the Panthers for large portions of the game, but had a couple of bad stretches that cost them a few goals.  Assistant captain Chad Peacock ended the Panthers shutout bid with an unassisted goal in the third.  Gram Doherty (7 saves) and Kevin Bovair (14 saves) split time in net for the Beavers. Next up for Beavercreek is the Mayor’s Cup and their first game will be Thursday night at 6 PM against the Centerville Elks at South Metro.

Creek Skates To A 2-2 Draw Against Swords

Beavercreek battled against the Cincinnati Swords Friday night in front a festive crowd at the Kettering Rec. It was Fan Appreciation Night and the students brought a whole lotta energy to the rink with their Beavercreek Varsity Hockey Rally Towels. After a false start, Creek tied the game on a power play goal from captain PJ Kosir that was assisted by Joey Duford. The Swords responded with another goal and had a 2-1 lead after the first period. Midway through the second, Creek tied it up on a goal from Braden Sanders, which was assisted by PJ Kosir. There were some opportunities by both teams to take the lead in the third, but the game ended in a 2-2 tie. Kevin Bovair was between the pipes for the Beavers and turned away 32 shots. Next up for the Beavers is a 3 PM Sunday afternoon affair against the Elder Panthers at the Kettering Rec.  Come out and support the team and your teachers at Faculty Appreciation Night.
