This past week the 2000-01 edition of the Beavercreek Varsity Hockey Team was honored for its
hard work and dedication. This group of young men
and woman always represented their school and
community with class and pride. Sophomore center
Jason Culham and Junior defensemen Matt Parker
each collected two prestigious honors this season.
Culham, the Beavers leading scorer and third in career
scoring, collected Offensive Player of the Year and Co-
MVP. Parker, a team leader on both ends of the ice,
won Defensive Player of the Year and was also Co-
MVP recipient. Freshman newcomer John Haverland was a breath
of fresh air to this club and claimed Rookie of the Year
honors. Sophomore Chris Clark and Freshman Sean
Kelly captured the Co- Most Improved Player Award
this year. The honor held in the highest esteem in the Creek
Hockey Program is the Eric Gartz Award given each
year to the player displaying tenacity, dedication,
leadership, and love of the game. This year's honoree
was sophomore goalie Chris Brown, who holds the
current goals against average record at Beavercreek. |
