Last night the power play goal was golden for the Beavers as they netted three goals. Sunday afternoon they gave up three short-handed goals in the third and fell to the Talawanda Braves 4-1 in SWOHSHL league play. The ice was tilted from the outset, but Creek drew first blood on a goal from senior Chad Peacock that was assisted by Alex Folga and Cole Gutterman in the first for a 1-0 lead. Chad Peacock continues to put the biscuit in the basket for the Beavers and has now scored a goal in 6 of 7 regular season games. The Braves evened the game shortly after and things were tied at 1-1 after the first. Creek survived the second period unscathed, mostly because of excellent goal tending from senior assistant captain Gram Doherty, who ended up turning away 47 shots on the day. Although the game was still knotted at 1-1 after two, the wheels fell off in the third. Next up for the Beavers is a non-league game against the Cincinnati Swords at 10 PM at the Kettering Rec Center.
