Creek Finishes 2nd in 2017 Frozen Creek

Beavercreek battled the Clay Eagles well in the championship game of the 2017 Frozen Creek tournament, but fell short losing 2-1.  The Eagles got powerplay goals in the first and second periods, however, the Beavers got a powerplay goal of their own in the third.  They scored on a goal from Chad Peacock, that was assisted by Braden Cox and Alex Folga.  Creek pulled goalie Gram Doherty at the end of regulation for one last push, but were not able to get the biscuit in the basket.  The Beavers ended up with a 2-2 record in the Frozen Creek, which earned them a 2nd place finish.  Nice tournament boys!  Next up for Beavercreek will be a regular season game against Alter at 10 PM on Saturday December 2nd at the Kettering Rec.

Creek Defeats Troy In A Thriller!

Beavercreek played some inspired hockey this evening on their way to defeating Troy 2-0 in their third game of the 2017 Frozen Creek.  After a scoreless first, Max Pezzot scored is first BHS Hockey career goal in the second on an assist from Shane Sanders.  For you scoring at home, that was 21 from 12.  Creek held on to their 1-0 lead late into the third, when Shane Sanders scored on a deflection from a blast from PJ Kosir with less than four minutes to play in the game.  The Beavers were able to hold on and give Gram Doherty, who was between the pipes, his first shutout win of the season.  With this victory, Creek gets to play in the Frozen Creek Championship game against Clay on Sunday at 1:40 at the Kettering Rec.  Come out and cheer the Beavers to victory!

Beavers Start Off Strong, But Slip To The Irish

Beavercreek started their second game of the Frozen Creek against the Dublin-Scioto Irish with great intensity.  They drew first blood in the opening period on a goal from Braden Cox, which was assisted by Alex Folga and Chad Peacock.  They got an unassisted goal mid-way through the second by Joey Duford and got another goal by Chad Peacock, which was assisted by PJ Kosir and Nick Belmonte, later in the period, to take a 3-0.  The wheels started to come off in the end of the second when the Beavers game up two goals in 18 seconds.  The Irish outscored the Beavers 3-0 in the third, and came away with a 5-3 victory.  Next up for Beavercreek is a game against the Troy Bruins at 8:20 PM at the Kettering Rec.

Creek Handles La Salle In Frozen Creek Opener

Beavercreek got off to a great start to the 2017 Frozen Creek tournament by beating La Salle 12-1.  The scoring was highlighted by Tanner King and Braden Cox getting their first BHS Varsity Hockey career regular season goals.  King also ended up with is first career hat trick for the Battlin’ Beavers.  Creek also got goals from Joey Duford, Nick Belmonte, PJ Kosir, Chad Peacock, Shane Sanders, Nate Schivelbein, and Cole Gutterman got a pair.  Gram Doherty was in net for the Beavers and collected his first win of the season.  Next up for the Beavers is their second game of the Frozen Creek, which will be against the Dublin-Scioto Irish at 2:50 at the Kettering Rec.
