The Kettering Rec Center was buzzing Saturday night as the Alter Knights played host to the Beavercreek Beavers. The fans of the “visiting” Beavers made their presence known, and the team responded with a solid first period that was capped off on a goal from Joey Duford, which was assisted by PJ Kosir and Cole Gutterman. The Beavers added to their lead with a goal from Chad Peacock that was assisted by Braden Sanders and Tanner King. The Knights got back into the game on a short-handed goal and added two more goals, the last of which coming with 3.9 seconds left in the period. Creek responded well in the third and were rewarded with a game tying goal by Tanner King, which was assisted by Max Pezzot. Unfortunately, the Knights got the game winning goal on the very next shift and added another one late in the period, to get the 5-3 victory. Gram Doherty faced 29 shots and turned away 24 in net for the Beavers. Next up for the Beavers is a Saturday evening affair at 6 PM against Mason at Sports Plus.
