Creek Leaves Strongsville With Second Place Finish

Your Battling Beavers went up North to the 18th annual Walter F Erhnfelt Memorial Hockey Tournament and came away as the Runner Ups in the Red Division.  Creek faced three tough teams to reach the championship match.  The Red Division teams were Beavercreek, the Strongsville Mustangs, the Harbor Creek (PA) Huskies, and the Cleve Wildcats.  Creek beat both Strongsville and Harbor Creek before facing Cleve which is a part of the St Ignatius hockey network.  Creek fell 3-0 to Cleve to set up the rematch in the division final against the same Wildcats.  The Beavers hung tough behind stellar goal tending from Junior Ben Duford, but one goal from Junior Thomas Bush in the second period of the championship was not enough and Creek fell 3-1.  Beavercreek played extremely well and should be proud of themselves going into the later portion of this hockey season.  The Beavers are back in action Friday for Senior Night at South Metro against the Mason Comets.
