Beavercreek and Gahanna Lincoln had a chance to play a game at Nationwide Arena Tuesday afternoon in Columbus. Getting to play a hockey game at the home of the Blue Jackets is always a treat, but winning a game on the big ice makes it even more special. The game was scoreless through most of the first period when Mason Mikesch finally broke the ice on an unassisted goal. This was the start what ended up being a 5 goal 2 assist 7 point game for Mikesch, who ended up one goal shy of tying the club record for most goals in a game! Mikesch wasn’t the only Beaver to have fun on the big ice, as PJ Kosir got a goal and 2 assists, Cole Gutterman got 3 assists, and Nate Schivelbein got a goal and an assist. Other Creek point getters were Chad Peacock with a goal, Max Pezzot with a goal, Marshal Enfield with a goal, Braden Sanders with an assist, Braden Cox with an assist, and Joe Bordas with an assist. Both goal keepers, Gram Doherty and Kevin Bovair, split time between the pipes and almost recorded a combined shutout. Next up for the Beavers is a regular season ending SWOHSHL affair against the Sycamore Aviators on Saturday night at 10 PM at the Kettering Rec Center. This will also be senior night, so come out show your appreciation for our senior class and cheer the Beavers on to another victory!
