It’s been a long off season for you Creek hockey fans, but your beloved Beavers were finally back on the ice Friday night. They hit the road this weekend and played the Perrysburg Yellow Jackets in Toledo, for what was their first of three preseason games up north. Cole Gutterman opened up the scoring for Creek off a nifty pass from Mason Mikesch in the first. In the second, Gutterman also got an unassisted goal and Freshman Thomas Bush scored his first BHS Varsity Hockey goal with an unassisted tally. Gutterman was not through and completed his hat trick early in the third with an assist from Max Pezzot. The proverbial damn then burst as Creek scored on their next three shots with goals from Braden Cox, Mikesch, and Joe Bordas. Kevin Bovair was between the pipes for the Beavers for the first two periods and turned away 26 shots. Freshman Ben Duford made his BHS Varsity Hockey debut and turned away 9 shots in the third. Next up for the Beavers is another preseason affair with a Saturday night game at 6:00 at BGSU Ice Arena against Anthony Wayne.
