Creek came out swinging and never looked back in Saturday’s 5-1 victory over the Comets. The Battling Beavers took advantage of an early five-minute major penalty in the first period and quickly went up 3-0 on Mason with Junior Captain Thomas Bush’s hat trick. His first two goals were unassisted blasts and his third came off an assist from Sophomore Owen Huff. Huff got the biscuit in the basket off assists from Sophomore teammates Riley Hanson and Ethan Webb with 735 left in the period. The final Creek goal of the game came unassisted with 337 left in the first period off the stick of Sophomore Joey Donahue.
The second period saw a defensive struggle as neither team allowed a goal. Freshman Ian Champagne swapped with starting goalie Junior Ben Duford halfway through the period. The final goal of the game came off the stick of a comet player with 407 left in the game.
The Beavers’ next contest is 11AM Sunday, 13 December, against the Springboro Panthers at South Metro.
