Beavercreek was back on the ice Friday for a SWOHSHL match up against the Elder Panthers at the Kettering Rec Center. This game was a makeup of a contest that was originally scheduled for December 9th and had to be canceled due to issues with the ice at Northlands. It was Student Appreciation Night at the rink and the Creek Hockey fans were treated to free swag, a free gift card raffle, and free pizza that was provided by Dayton’s Original Pizza Factory! It was the Beavers last home game of the season and Beavercreek Varsity Hockey would like to thank all of our sponsors for their support throughout this great season!!
Creek started out a little sluggish, but for the most part dominated play on the night as they out shot the Panthers 50-15. It was a career night for Mason Mikesch who scored 6 goals on the night, tying the Beavercreek Hockey record for most goals in a game! Cole Gutterman had 2 goals and 5 assists (1 shy of tying the assist record for a game), PJ Kosir had 2 goals and an assist (he now has the record for the most goals by a defenseman in a season), Thomas Bush had a goal, and Nate Schivelbein had a goal. Joey Duford, Alex Folga, Joe Bordas, Braden Cox, Marshal Enfield, and Max Pezzot each had an assist. Kevin Bovair and Ben Duford split time between the pipes and collectively turned away 15 shots on their way to a combine shutout.
Next up for the Beavers is a much anticipated battle of the two undefeated teams in SWOHSHL play as the 12-0 Beavercreek Beavers face off against the 12-0 St. Xavier Bombers on Sunday afternoon at 4 PM at Northlands Ice Arena. This should prove to be a very interesting game, so try to make the trip down south if you can and cheer Creek on to victory!
